LockeStar Cavaliers

Penny is our first Blenheim and is just as sweet as can be. She is our most mellow and sensitive Cavalier.  She is feminine in type, slow to mature, and weighs in at just about 16lbs.  While she is always up for a game of fetch or tug, I love the way she molds into our laps and presses her body against ours.  She is really quite expressive and possesses a good-natured soul. 

 

In August 2014 at the tender age of 9 months old, Penny stepped foot in the show ring for the first time.  She placed 1st in a large class in puppy sweeps one day and later went on to being named as the Best Puppy in Specialty Show.  Then on her very next weekend out, she won her first 2 points from the puppy 9 - 12mo class.  By February 2015, she went on to winning Best of Opposite Sex in Puppy Sweepstakes as well as gaining 3 Reserve Winner's Bitch awards, one of which was right under the incredible Coco, her mother (who finished her AKC Championship by going BISS at that same show, won multiple BOBs and Group Placements, and is lifetime Crufts Qualified). This mother-daughter win was under Judge Mr. Bobby Hutton, and is a very special memory.

 

Penny continued on to win a Best of Opposite sex over specials including her own mother, gained back to back RWB placements at the 2015 Cavaliers of Puget Sound specialty show as a young adult, picked up more WB awards and several RWB awards including majors.  After taking some time off showing to have pups and let me finish earning my degree at WSU, Penny returned to the show ring to win her first major for 3pts (featured photo).  Shortly after, she gained another RWB to a major, and finally gained her AKC Championship crown by going WB and BOW for a 4pt major!
