LockeStar Cavaliers
About Us
Located in Everett, WA
I am currently a member of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club USA and the Cavaliers of Puget Sound.
My name is Alisha Lockleer, and I thank you for visiting the LockeStar website! I am a breeder and exhibitor of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, based in Everett, Wa, which is about 40 minutes North of Seattle.
My daughter, Allie, helps me raise and care for the dogs and enjoys showing in Pee Wee handling, which is for Junior Handlers between the ages of 5 and 9.

Being a small breeder, I house only a few of the total dogs that I own or co-own. I only have litters when me or my breeding partners aim to keep a new show potential puppy with which to further my/our breeding program/s.
It is important to me that all my dogs live their lives as happy spoiled pets. My dogs do not live in kennels and are part of the family. I am happy to allow visitors to meet me and my daughter, and especially to come and see how the dogs are raised.
I Strongly Believe in and Follow the Below Practices:

-
MRI Scans for Syringomyelia - realistic goal of reducing the frequency this disease produces symptomatic dogs

-
Echo-cardiograms AND auscultations through a Cardiologist

-
Picky diet choices - raw, freeze dried raw, reading food labels carefully

-
Being up front and honest about everything with the dogs
My goal with my Cavaliers is to produce healthy, long lived, temperamentally sound, structurally correct and beautiful dogs. All breeding dogs in my home are always health tested to my high standards before being bred, and every litter is carefully planned far in advance.
LockeStar Cavaliers is a huge supporter of Junior Showmanship
There is nothing better than children with their Cavaliers
HOW WE STARTED
Our Special Girl, Coco
BISS GCH Can CH Pensrick Ace of Spades , CGC - "Coco" came home in 2010. She became my foundation girl and first show dog. She was bred by Penelope Liebeler and Rick Fellows of Pensrick Cavaliers, and was loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.
I would like to send a special thank you to my mother-in-law, Susan Lockleer, for without her support and encouragement, Coco and I would not be where we are today. I also would like to thank Penelope and Rick for trusting Coco to me, and to Julia and Malynn Johns for helping to show Coco in the breed ring for me, including Westminster and Crufts.
Coco has proven to be the most incredible first show dog anyone could have ever asked for. She has taken us all on an adventure of a lifetime and we could not be more proud of her. Please take a look through my website to get to know me and my dogs better!
